Looking East: Contemporary Art from Eastern Europe

Second event of London Festival of Europe 2007: a look at how artists from eastern european counties are negotiating their changing identities


The accession of former communist states from the Eastern bloc k into the European Union has been cause of much debate, and one of the most significant events in the European political panorama of the last decade. How are artists from Eastern Europe negotiating their new European identity in the context of their regional political history?
To be followed by screenings of contemporary Romanian video art.
