So You Want to Be a Brain Surgeon

The Dana Centre is the Science Museum’s stylish adults-only bar and café dedicated to discussing contemporary science, medicine, technology and the environment.

Have you ever wanted to be a brain surgeon? Well, best to practice with jelly or eggs first… Audiences will join a team of surgeons and find out how brain surgery is performed. From the origins of surgery - when the brain was operated on with stone tools and no anesthetic - will be revealed to what is possible now and might be in the future. Audience members will have the chance to try their surgical skills in the same mock procedures that surgeons are trained in, under the expert eye of those who do it every day. This event has been organised by EDAB.
