Can the European Economic Model be Transformed?

Europe stands accused of economic underperformance, declining competitiveness and inadequate commitment to research and innovation. How can it boost economic efficiency? Is serious reform politically feasible? And must there be a trade-off with social cohesion?

Elie Cohen is research director at CNRS and Sciences Po and a member of the Conseil d’Analyse Economique.
