Premature babies: recent advances in neuroprotection

Despite dramatic improvement in the perinatal care of the most premature babies, neurological impairment incidence remains high. Come and learn how, using different approaches, scientists try to save these babies.

Dr. Baud investigates the role of oxidative stress in the immature white matter in the brain and his findings could lead to new neuroprotection strategies in the near future. Dr. Robertson and Prof. Wyatt study the role of regional brain temperature in newborn and develop cooling protocols that could influence neuropathological outcome during post-ischaemic period .
