Regulating the Psychological Therapies

From Taxonomy to Taxidermy

Denis Postle, ARCA, worked as a documentary film maker for many years and is now a psychotherapist and supervisor. Richard House MA (Oxon) is a senior lecturer in psychotherapy at Roehampton University, an NHS counsellor and a Steiner teacher. Both are founder participants in the IPN (Independent Practitioners Network). They see this organisation as exemplifying many of their core values. They will discuss the issue of state regulation of the therapies and argue that accountability for the psycho-practises can best be structured through cooperative and non-hierarchical organisations.
