Tonight, Paul Cowlan will be taking a few of the more prominent alchemical symbols and exploring their hidden significance.
Fish, peacocks, ravens, swans, eagles, chickens, dragons, unicorns, wolves, stags, elephants and even the odd chameleon; the list of creatures which appear in alchemical manuscripts is an extensive one. Then, too, there are hermaphrodites, nameless hybrids and puzzling scenarios in which kings devour their sons, men walk without feet or attempt to subdivide outsized eggs with a sword; not to speak of countless curious diagrams and astrological symbols. In this talk, Paul Cowlan will be taking a few of the more prominent alchemical symbols and exploring their hidden significance, together with a general background of the Secret Art. No previous knowledge required. Paul is studied and practiced non-laboratory alchemy for more than twenty years.
