Making Watercolours and Pastels

Practical Course

Thursday 9 & Friday 10 August 2007
10.30-16.30
Studio
Mixed ability

The two-day course will give students the opportunity to create and use their own set of watercolours and pastels from 'raw' ingredients. Each colour requires a different amount of medium to make into a cake or stick. The advantage of making your own is that you can choose the colours you want and even invent mixtures; it is also cheaper than buying ready-made sets. Watercolours may be reactivated -almost forever! Weather permitting, we shall spend some time in the garden using the portable paints and pastels we have made.
