Chinese Silk

A Clore Education Centre Lecture on the History of chinese silk.


This illustrated lecture traces the story of silk from its Neolithic origins to the 20th century and explores its role in Chinese history, trade, religion and literature.

Shelagh Vainker is Curator of Chinese Art at the Ashmolean Museum and co-author of the award winning British Museum Book of Chinese Art
