Global Welfare Economics and the World Distribution of Income


This lecture explores some of the implications of adopting (or returning to) a global approach to welfare economics, examines the long-run evolution of the world distribution of income, and investigates the roles of global taxation and of private philanthropy.

Tony Atkinson is senior research fellow at Nuffield College, Oxford.
