A Poisoned Chalice: the substantive and procedural defects of the Iraqi high tribunal

International Humanitarian Law Project public lecture


This talk will explore the problems with the trial of Saddam Hussein through an examination of the Iraqi high tribunal’s unstable mix of international and domestic criminal law.

Charles Garraway is a lecturer at LSE and was involved in the drafting of the statute of the Iraqi high tribunal. Kevin Jon Heller is a senior lecturer at the University of Auckland Faculty of Law in New Zealand.
