The Little Theatre Of Disease & Desire

Daniel Baker will be in the Museum, creating a series of scenes and characters for a contemporary version of the toy paper theatres of the 18th and early 19th centuries.

Daniel Baker, Artist in Residence at the Old Operating Theatre Museum.
On Thursday and Friday afternoons during November 2007, artist in residence Daniel Baker will be in the Museum, creating a series of scenes and characters for a contemporary version of the toy paper theatres of the 18th and early 19th centuries that he has built. The scenes are from “The Simbysial Case”, a fictional narrative of a young man’s experience of a mysterious disease that affects his whole world. In January, the finished work will be exhibited in the Museum.
