The Horse's Mouth

A talk on the National Theatre production of 'War Horse'.

Mervyn Millar, puppeteer, director and member of the creative team behind 'War Horse', currently at the National Theatre, will be talking about the process of creating the show.
'War Horse' is an adaptation of Michael Morpugo's novel about a horse living through the First World War. The story is brilliantly told with life-sized horse puppets created by the renowned South African puppet company Handspring. Mervyn has recently published a book about the show called 'The Horse's Mouth', a follow-up to his
book about Handspring, 'Journey of the Tall Horse'.

The talk will be followed by presentations of a group of new short object plays by BA and MA students from Central School of Speech and Drama. As space is limited for the performances, please book in advance by emailing Cariad Astles on c.astles@cssd.ac.uk
The 2007 John Phillips Memorial Lecture is organised by British UNIMA (www.unima.org.uk) as part of the Peckham Literary Festival www.peckhamliteraryfestival.co.uk.
