The Apothecary Weekend: From Garden to Garret

Guided tour around a living herb garden, and demonstration of old apothecary remedies


Starting within the fresh herb garden of St George the Martyr Church, Southwark, there will be a short walk to the oak beamed Herb Garret of Old St Thomas’ Hospital for a demonstration of traditional medicinal preparations: poultices, infusions and pills.
Event starts at St George’s Garden,
West Side of St George’s Church, Borough High Street.
(nearest tube Borough)
Garden contains the wall of the infamous Marshalsea Prison
