This film runs between 2001 and 2007 in search of the socialist revolution that was abruptly halted with the murder of Che Guevara in 1967.
Wed 6th August, 7.30pm Price: £8.00
Followed by Q&A with director Rodrigo Vazquez
Director Rodrigo Vasquezâ film Looking for the Revolution runs between 2001 and 2007 in search of the socialist revolution that was abruptly halted with the murder of Che Guevara in 1967, leaving the indigenous peoplesâ dreams of freedom in tatters and forgotten by the outside world.
After Cheâs death the indigenous peoplesâ revolutionary cause was sidelined until the rise of Evo Morales, a native former coca leaf farmer who became the countryâs president in 2005.
Looking for the Revolution gets close to the grass roots indigenous movement in Bolivia and asks whether the people have been failed by their new leaders and if the revolution started by Che can be continued into the twenty first century.
