A Third Text project in collaboration with Tate Britain
This conference marks the publication of Third Textâs A Very Special British
Issue, with emphasis on the defining moment of British post-war art in the
1950s and 1960s, and will ask crucial questions on how knowledge is produced
in British art. What is the role of post-colonial narratives in British art history?
Why have certain categories of art and artists been excluded from the British art
cannon? Participating speakers include Rasheed Araeen, Michael Corris,
Mel Gooding, Alison Green, Neil Mulholland, Lord Bikhu Parekh,
Peter Osborne and Leon Wainwright
