The sermons will offer a witty but also valuable alternative to the traditional religious sermon.
The School of Life is launching a series of secular sermons. Influential cultural figures will offer their personal thoughts on modern day vices and virtues, preaching the values they think we should cling to or be wary of.
In his sermon, Geoff will explore the historical sacrifices and successes of punctual people and the trouble caused by low-lifes who waste other people's time. He will urge us to be less sloppy about time-keeping, a virtue which he sees as increasingly threatened by a culture in which mobile phones have made arrangements increasingly approximate and flexible.
Geoff is the author of three novels, a critical study of John Berger and five genre-defying titles.
