The idea of fair trade has become increasingly popular amongst consumers and some producers. But who does fair-trade really benefit? The producers, the consumers or the farmers?

Adam Brett is the co-founder of Tropical Wholefoods, and has worked in the fair trade food business since 1990. Pauline Tiffen is an independent consultant, and the founder of CafeDirect and Divine Chocolate.
