2009 marks the 60th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, offering an opportunity to consider and reconsider the Communist revolution in Chinese and world history.

Chen Jian holds the Philippe Roman Chair in History and International Affairs at LSE for 2008-09. Professor Chen is the Michael J K Chair of the History of US China Relations at Cornell University.
