The close relationship between Benjamin Franklin and Polly Hewson, the daughter of Franklinâs Craven Street landlady, is a fascinating story of personal friendships in the Enlightenment.
The correspondence between Franklin and Polly discuss many aspects of 18th century life, including Franklinâs scientific experiments, and Pollyâs letters Polly offer a wonderful insight into the life of an ordinary but intelligent young woman in the 18th century.
