Coronavirus situation update

Our lecture organisers may or may not have had time to update their events with cancellation notices. Clearly social gatherings are to be avoided and that includes lectures. STAY AT HOME FOLKS, PLEASE.

Counter-Intuitive Science

Many ideas in Science do not make sense. They even appear to be in opposition to what an educated guess would suggest is correct. This talk will explore counter-intuitive ideas and discuss some of the creative techniques that are used by scientists to complement the more formal approach to doing science.

Cafe Scientifique is a place where, for the price of a cup of coffee or a glass of wine anyone can come to explore the latest ideas in science and technology.

Events are open to all, aimed at a non-specialist audience and are held at Cafe Muse, corner of Oxford Road and Bridgeford Street, Manchester.
