Takhti and the Zurkhaneh

Discussion on the significance of Takhti as a national hero of Iran.


Speakers will discuss the significance of Takhti, the famous Iranian wrestler and national hero of Iran, the Zurkhaneh, the traditional gymnasium where wrestling and other sports were practised, and its significance in contemporary Iranian art. Followed by a demonstration of Zurkhaneh in the Great Court between 14.00 & 16.00.
