Cristina Fernández de Kirchner is President of Argentina, a position she has held since December 2007. Prior to this she served as Senator for the Province of Buenos Aires and Chairwoman of the Constitutional Affairs Committee of the Honourable Senate of the Nation. Since she was a student at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, she has been a staunch supporter of the Peronist Movement.
