A retrospective of Hopper’s work has not been seen in the UK for over twenty years. Sheena Wagstaff, Head of Exhibitions at Tate Modern and curator of Edward Hopper, will lead a personal tour of the current exhibition. She will discuss the development of Hopper scholarship in recent years and the particular concerns she had in organising this show. Her talk will focus not only on iconic paintings from across Hopper’s career but also on the watercolours, drawings and etchings she included to give a broader sense of Hopper’s ideas and techniques.
