The Challenge of Climate Change

Leading environmental researcher MAYER HILLMAN will be giving a lecture on The Challenge of Climate Change

On the 1st April, PSI formally joins the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Languages at the University of Westminster.

To commemorate this, leading environmental researcher MAYER HILLMAN will be giving a lecture on The Challenge of Climate Change. All are welcome!

Mayer Hillman, a social scientist and former architect and town planner, joined Policy Studies Institute in 1970 as Head of its Environment and Quality of Life Research Programme. He is now Senior Fellow Emeritus of the Institute. He is the author or co-author of over 50 books on the environment and climate change, including ‘How We Can Save the Planet’ (with Tina Fawcett), Penguin Books, and ‘The Suicidal Planet: our last chance to prevent climate catastrophe’ (with Tina Fawcett and Sudhir Rajan).

For 40 years, he has highlighted the imperative of public policy incorporating environmental considerations. He first proposed personal carbon rationing in 1990.
