Darwin’s Lost World

The early history of life on Earth

One of the great quests of 20th-century geology has been the challenge of finding the earliest records of life on Earth, and was particularly significant to Charles Darwin and his theory of evolution. Professor Martin Brasier tells the story of the adventures, the science, and the discoveries encountered when searching for evidence of creatures that lived on Earth more than 500 million years ago.

This event is being held in conjunction with Oxford University Press
