His warm and friendly personality has earned him a devoted following at Treadwell's, where he is well loved. Cyril's books include The Beginnings of German Literature (2002), and Wolfram von Eschenbach: Parzival with Titurel, and the Love-Lyrics (2004), a translation of the greatest medieval Grail romance. The paperback version in 2006 (Oxford World’s Classics). He has published widely on medieval love-lyrics and political lyrics, and on the supernatural, particularly elves and witchcraft.
