Evelyn Sharp: Rebel Woman

Angela V John on Evelyn Sharp: journalist, suffragette, pacifist and incorrigible rebel.


Angela V John (Professor of History, Aberystwyth University) talks about her latest biography, the life of Evelyn Sharp (1869-1955), journalist, suffragette, pacifist and incorrigible rebel.

Sharp was a popular writer of children’s school stories and fairy tales. She was twice imprisoned for suffrage militancy, and edited Votes for Women in its later years.
