An opportunity for strangers to engage in a vital and honest exchange of ideas while relishing a diverse palette of flavours combined with culinary intelligence and wit.
Forget what your parents told you about not talking to strangers. At The School of Life we regularly host meals in which strangers (just as initially hesitant, shy, and yet curious as you are) come together in unusual settings to explore experiences, ideas, regrets and aspirations. The School of Lifeâs collaboration with The Providores â“co owned by Peter Gordon and Michael McGrath - offers the opportunity for strangers to engage in a vital and honest exchange of ideas while relishing a diverse palette of flavours combined with culinary intelligence and wit.
On arrival diners will enjoy a seasonal cocktail and several conversational amuse-bouches. Renowned chef and food writer Peter Gordon will then present a tapas taster plate combining esoteric ingredients from around the globe (think scallop and watermelon sashimi, and miso grilled tongue with chrain). Heâll also introduce the wines heâs selected from the evening, sourced from his home country, New Zealand.
Over the next couple of hours, diners will enjoy experiments in dialogue based on the schoolâs ingenious âmenu of conversationâ. In a restaurant renowned for serving the most exciting and innovative fusion food in the UK, diners can be confident of flavours as vibrant as the ideas they discuss.
