Everyday Miracles: Dutch Painting of the Golden Age

A fresh look at the artists of the Dutch Republic


Examining portraits, genre painting, the newly perfected art of landscape painting, still life and religious art. Featured artists include Rembrandt, Jan Steen, Frans Hals, Gabriel Metsu, Willem Kalf, Pieter de Hooch, and of course Johannes Vermeer. Also takes a look at some of the more idiosynchratic characters among the Little Masters and their unpredictable works.
