Debate: Offshore Financial Centres: Blessing or Curse?

This debate will focus on the impacts of tax havens

Offshore Financial Centres, commonly known as tax havens, have been the focus of increased media and popular attention since the G20 met in London in April. This debate will explore whether tax havens create opportunities for entrepreneurship in the developing world, or whether they are sources of corruption and destructive competition which encourage exploitation and undermine good governance.

The Speakers will be Howard Bilton, Chair of the Sovereign Group, and John Kay, Economist and Financial Times Columnist

The debate will take place at St Mary-le-Bow Church, EC2V 6AU, at 1.05pm. It will conclude by 2pm but will be followed by free Fairtrade wine and fruit juice. All are welcome.
