This lecture will look at the context of royal portraiture in its early evolution, and the many different portraits produced of Henry in his lifetime. Why has Holbein's often-copied portrait stood the test of time?

Dr Tarnya Cooper is Curator of Sixteenth-Century Collections at the National Portrait Gallery.
