On Wednesday 4th November the Universityâs Culture & Arts Forum invites you to attend Origins, the Universityâs fifth annual culture day. A free event featuring talks, drama, film and music, Origins links to both the Year of Homecoming and the Darwin 200 anniversary and promises to be a fascinating and entertaining afternoon. Speakers include Prof Charles McKean, Prof Nicholas Davey, Dr Keith Skene, Dr Brian Hoyle and many more, with subjects ranging from evolutionary theory to the origins of heritage, the philosophical idea of origination and the films of Peter Greenaway. The day concludes with a dramatic reading by the JOOT theatre company of a medieval mystery play about the Creation. As part of the event, the Exhibitions department have commissioned a limited edition artistâs print by MFA student Janey Muir, copies of which will be given free to the first 50 attendees. Janey will also be giving a talk about the work as part of the event.
Origins runs from 1.30 - 5.30pm in Baxter Conference Room 1.36, Tower Building and visitors are welcome to come to as much or as little of the event as they wish. The full programme is available at www.dundee.ac.uk/museum/caf.htm
