Coronavirus situation update

Our lecture organisers may or may not have had time to update their events with cancellation notices. Clearly social gatherings are to be avoided and that includes lectures. STAY AT HOME FOLKS, PLEASE.

The Iraq National Library

Dr Saad Eskander, director of the Iraq National Library and Archive (INLA), discusses the political and ideological role the INLA played under the former dictatorial regime, the imposition of censorship, the role that libraries, archives and museums can play at a time of a national crisis (post-April 2003), and the INLA's current resistance to the imposition of any form of cultural censorship by the present government. Under his leadership the INLA has been rebuilt and he can proudly say 'It never closed' in spite of the situation in Baghdad.
