Maths education; does it add up?

Is maths too hard for most people? Or is it just taught badly in England? Professor Jo Boaler, will share some surprising research results to reveal the huge gap between the way maths is taught in schools and the ways it should be taught. This event will also involve responses from leading figures in education, entertainment and politics.


In this presentation Professor Boaler, formerly a professor at Stanford University, will share some surprising research results and videos of students, to reveal the huge gap between the way maths is taught in schools and the ways it should be taught. She will also explain why women and girls are often disadvantaged in maths classrooms. This will be a multi-media presentation with responses from leading figures in education, entertainment and politics.
