Lowrytrek: towards a psychogeography of Malcolm Lowry’s Wirral

Mark Goodall examines the life and work of the British writer Malcolm Lowry, born 100 years ago this year. The talk will note the psychogeographical aspects of Lowry's writings, outline the plans for a psychogeographical walk around Lowry's Liverpool and put forward proposals for applying psychogeographical methods to literary texts.

Dr. Mark Goodall, from the University of Bradford, will be talking about the 20th century British poet and novelist Malcolm Lowry.

Mark Goodall examines the life and work of the British writer Malcolm Lowry, born 100 years ago this year. The talk will note the psychogeographical aspects of Lowry's writings, outline the plans for a psychogeographical walk around Lowry's Liverpool and put forward proposals for applying psychogeographical methods to literary texts.

Mark Goodall curated the film programme at the Lowry Centenary held in Liverpool last year. A chapter by him on Lowry is included in the recently published book Malcolm Lowry: from the Mersey to the World.
