Portuguese Baroque Music

From Scarlatti to 'mishapen pearls': a lecture on Baroque music in Portugal.

Portugal has always had a close connection with Baroque music, whether it is Scarlatti's tenure at the Royal Court in Lisbon or the fact that 'Baroque' comes from the Portuguese word for 'misshapen pearl'. This lecture offers the chance to hear about the stories surrounding and the unique flavour of Baroque music in Portugal in the 17th and early 18th centuries.
