Talk on author Alexander Baron. Speaker Ken Worple.
Alexander Baron was a major writer of the mid-twentieth century. His From the Plough, From the City (1948) sold over a million copies and has been acknowledged as one of the greatest works of the Second World War literature. He is best known to modern readers as author of the 1963 novel The Lowlife, re-issued in 2001 with a foreward by Iain Sinclair, long a champion of Baron's work.
