Fields of Blood: Really?

Russell James,‘The Godfather of British noir’, interrogates his rural crimewriting colleagues.

It was Sherlock Holmes who said that not even the vilest alleys of London had a more dreadful record of sin than the smiling and beautiful countryside. But is it true? Russell James,‘The Godfather of British noir’, isn’t convinced and interrogates his rural crimewriting colleagues, Andrew (The American Boy) Taylor, Phil (The Prayer of the Night Shepherd) Rickman and Rebecca (A Cotswold Killing) Tope on the issue of stiffs in the sticks, guns in the grass and corpses amongst the cows.
