A courses looking at the media today, its influence and power.
Second of two concurrent (but entirely separate) courses looking at the media today, its influence and power, and whether it helps or hinders the understanding of those it should be serving â“ you and me and the General Public. This four week course examines the reporting in the UK of society, race and religion, and asks whether the media is informing us about issues like race relations, religion, immigration, terrorism, etcâ¦or whether it is instead a divisive force breeding hatred and fear in the ever more desperate need to sell papers, attract viewers and get âhitsâ on media websites?
