Integrating New Acquisitions and Partnerships

Building synergy between organisations following intensive acquisitions.

Hewlett Packard has followed an intensive acquisition strategy in recent years in order to become a comprehensive global ICT provider. The acquisitions have had very different cultures from innovative HP, for example responsive Compaq, highly-centralised EDS and most recently talented 3Com. Mr FitzGerald will describe the different methods used to build synergy between the organisations and to what extent they have been successful, covering the theory as well as his experience, positive and negative, in leading major integrations. This lecture will appeal to those involved in business strategy in both private and public companies.
