Family History: Your Buckinghamshire Ancestors


Join Antony Marr to learn more about records for the Bucks ancestors on your family tree and more about the history of the county.

Do you have ancestors from Bucks in your family tree? In this half-day course, Antony Marr aims to help you find out more about the historic county of Buckinghamshire and find your ancestors' records.

Topics covered:
- the history and geography of Bucks;
- where to find your ancestors' records in the county;
- other records available outside the county.

About Antony Marr: Antony is based in Chalfont St Peter, Bucks. He enjoys the challenge of solving family mysteries, tracing missing family branches and generally helping people uncover the stories that made them who they are. He has a post graduate certificate in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies and a Certificate in Education. Antony is a full member and council member of the Association of Genealogists in Archives, the UK-based professional organisation for genealogists, that has a rigorous admissions process and requires members to abide by its code of practice. Antony has featured in "Family Finders" and "Who Do You Think You Are". He also has a part-time role as a Deputy Registrar in Bucks, giving him a deep understanding of the civil registration system.

Antony has almost 20 years experience in designing and delivering training packages in classrooms, lecture theatres and online. He can offer individual coaching, "get you started" workshops or full Family History courses for a group. He is a tutor for Pharos Tutors delivering specialist on-line genealogy training.
