Dr Patricia Shaw and Professor Douglas Griffin talk about the concept of process and method within the University of Hertfordshire DMan programme
In designing the basic framework of the DMan the programme team felt strongly that it would make no sense to require students to attend the session on method offered by the University. This was one important concrete expression of trying to work seriously and rigorously with a different idea of process and experience.
In the DMan programme students are required to begin working with a specific concept of process and method and, following this beginning, are then required to look at methodology on a broad basis and articulate their own position in relation to others.
Now, based on ten yearsâ work with the programme, Doug Griffin and Patricia Shaw will articulate some of the key differences and discuss them with seminar participants, looking critically at incidents in their own work.
