Ocean Diver Theory Test

LUEC run both the BSAC Snorkel Diver, and BSAC Diver courses. The theory lectures are held at Aylestone Leisure Centre, where the club meets each week. Lectures are held between 8:00pm and 9:00pm

Leicester Underwater Exploration Club was formed in 1958 by a small group of enthusiastic people who had discovered the new sport of Scuba diving.

Over the years the original members drifted away from the club, mostly moving away from Leicester but we still have one of the early club members, Roger Poll, who is director of Midland Diving Co. Ltd.

The club was independent, in the early days, until in 1967 when it joined the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC) and became Branch No. 0321.

During the early years membership was around the 40 mark but around the time the club joined the BSAC underwater films were beginning to be shown on the TV and this boosted membership up to the 120 mark. Membership stayed around this mark, rising to around 150 in 1976 where it stayed until the mid 90 s. Current membership is around the 70 mark.

The club meets between 8.00pm and 10.30pm on a Monday night at Aylestone Leisure Centre in Leicester for theory and practical training.
