Adventures and Misadventures

Two young British explorers, Patrick Woodhead and Alex Hibbert, discuss their experiences and their new books.

Two young British explorers, Patrick Woodward and Alex Hibbert, will talk about their adventures and misadventures.

Part of the youngest and fastest to ever reach the South Pole in 2002, Patrick Woodward went on to lead the first ever East to West traverse of Antarctica covering 1850km in a total of 75 days. He has been on other successful expeditions in Tibet, Kyrgyzstan and the Amazon and was part of the team to set the fastest crossing of the Atlantic Ocean. He will talk about his book, The Forbidden Temple (The Cloud Maker in hardback).

Alex Hibbert is a polar expedition leader and photographer. At the age of 24, he spent over twenty-two weeks unsupported in the Arctic. Alex will talk about his new book, The Long Haul.
