Litter in the Raw North.

Does anyone actually like litter? Is littering cool, rebellious? Why not litter? What are the aesthetics of litter?

Tues Oct 26th, 5.15pm, University of Leeds
Speaker: Blake Alcott
Title: Litter in the Raw North
Abstract: Guerilla Garbagemen transfer litter from pavements, verges, hedges, public squares and Hyde Park into the streets where it belongs. Does anyone actually like litter? Is littering cool, rebellious? Why not litter? What are the aesthetics of litter? What are the ethics of geographic aesthetics? As a litter-hater, will I have to leave Leeds and go back to civilization? Proposal: The Council shall cease for 2 months collecting litter.

Venue: Baines Wing Miall Lecture Theatre 2.34, University of Leeds

At the end of the corridor on your right take the lift to the second floor (West) or go up 5 short flights of stairs. The Miall Lecture Theatre (2.34) is straight opposite the lift.
