The limits of science

Are there limitations to science? Peter Medawar famously thought so, and others have supposed that science cannot poke its nose into the various sensitive spots of a supposed spiritual world. But is that in fact the case? Peter Atkins examines the great questions of existence to see whether science is confronted by a brick wall, and if not, what it reveals.
