LSE Works: Financial Markets Group
Many have interpreted mutal fund managers' failure to beat the marketas strong evidence for the efficiency of the stock market. But what if each mutual fund manager had only to pick a few stocks, their 'best ideas'? Could they outperform the market under those circumstances?
Christopher Polk is Professor of Finance at LSE and Director of the Financial Markets Group.
LSE Works is a new series of public lectures, sponsored by SAGE publications, that will showcase some of the latest research by LSE's Research Centres. In each
session, LSE academics will present key research findings, demonstrating where appropriate the implications of their studies for public policy. The previous LSE works lecture was Where is Future Growth Going to Come From? and the next lecture in the series is Britain: a country divided?|.
