Islam and Coexistence

Lecture by Dr. Amr Khaled

Amr Khaled, an Egyptian Muslim televangelist, activist and preacher, is known as a proponent of a moderate and tolerant brand of Islam, preaching co-existence with the West whilst maintaining their faith with the modern world.

With more than 26 million hits on YouTube and more viewers on his television shows than that of Oprah Winfrey, dubbed The Billy Graham of Islam by Time Magazine, and described by the New York Times as “the world’s most famous and influential Muslim television preacher,” Khaled stands at the forefront of inter-faith dialogue. He speaks on the importance of religious tolerance, women’s rights, grassroots development, uprooting extremism and encouraging people to find peaceful solutions to conflict.

Amr Khaled’s messages reinforce the conviction that this is a momentous opportunity for interfaith dialogue to play an integral and crucial role in finding peaceful solutions to international conflicts.
