Mastering new technologies and approaches is essential in keeping pace with business needs in a fast changing, competitive world.
As part of its ERDF-funded digital design and manufacture project, Metropolitan Works launches of Digital Works, a new programme for 2011 that follows on from the ever-popular Introduction to Technology series.
Digital Works offers individuals from small to medium sized enterprises the opportunity to attain hands-on experience with the technology offered at Metropolitan Works including laser cutting, CAD software, water jet cutting, CNC router and rapid prototyping machines.
This 12-hour workshop is offered over the course of two days, and aims to assist attendees in improving their understanding of CNC routing (3-axis) for the benefit of their business.
CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) routing is a way of machining an object from CAD data with a sharp, fast-moving tool. The result is high-precision, machined parts and an ability to create complex geometries. Metropolitan Worksâ CNC router is one of a few of its capability in the UK and a great resource for London-based businesses.
