Why did James Bateman create a unique Geological Gallery that was laid out according to the 7 days of creation


James Bateman was a keen collector of fossils and built a gallery that would not only display his collection but reconcile the emergence of geology as a science with his own evangelical Christian beliefs. But why did he want to tell the story of Genesis in this way?
